English is easy ...

   About us

Secondly, this means that we don’t slavishly follow text books, which are written for international audiences and may not suit your needs perfectly. While we do use them, we encourage our teachers to use as many different sources for resources as possible: the internet, radio, film, newspapers etc. to find material that is appropriate and interesting. Motivation is an important factor in language learning – bored students don’t learn.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, language learning is not like learning physics, biology or history. It is not about learning long lists of facts and figures, not is it totally logical and precise. Languages are living things, and people learn them by speaking them. You can only really speak a language if you can think in it and you can only think in it if you aren’t “translating” all the time. English isn’t Czech and Czech isn’t English and you need to use English as much as possible to learn it. That means that we encourage our students to be as active as possible in class. The teacher does the work before the lesson during preparation – you should be the one who is working in class!
